Although Sean Miller grew up within a five-minute walk to Elyria Catholic, he initially started 9th grade at Christian Open Door School, where he attended primary school. Craving more of an expanded high school experience, Sean says he and his family “made the best decision ever” to have him transfer to EC. Sean was a member of the soccer team for four years and also dabbled in tennis, art, and drama. Sean and Kurt Schmittgen were voted Best Friends in their senior class, but also runner up for Best Personality. Sean’s family moved to Houston shortly after graduation, where he attended Texas A&M University for two years.
Sean says that EC Principal Andrew Krakowiak often said, “Doing what’s right is just the expectation!” Sean often used those words to help him overcome substance abuse in his early twenties. Sean partnered with a friend to grow a successful small company that gave Segway tours in West Palm Beach. The company grew from six Segways in one location to 50 Segways in multiple locations in just five years. Sean and his wife moved to Baltimore to be closer to her family while preparing to start their own. Sean pursued his real estate license, worked for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty, and has now been a partner in his own firm for four years. Sean and his wife have a five-year-old daughter. Sean shared his story with President Annie Heidersbach, who in turn, shared it with Andy Krakowiak. Annie is grateful that Sean would choose to share his story with her and affirm the mission of Elyria Catholic High School.
