Robert Leshnak ‘84 started his high school career at North Ridgeville High School. When a levy failed and sports were in danger of being cut from the school, Bob and his family turned to Elyria Catholic High School. Bob transferred as a junior where he was immediately entrenched in the football program. He discovered that the Panthers had a much better mentality. He says “They were good athletes, tough, and smart, and they loved their Knights of Columbus field. The experience was all new for me.” Bob was made captain of the football team, named 1st Team All State, and was eventually inducted into the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame. He had hoped the senior class would name him “Most Athletic,” but instead earned “Most Talkative.” He resented that at the time, but now believes it to be completely true. Bob earned a scholarship to the University of Cincinnati where he was captain of that football team and earned a degree in business. He worked for John Hancock for 9 years before founding his own company, Leshnak Wealth, which he has been running for nearly 30 years. Bob’s Elyria Catholic experience propelled him to become an advocate for Catholic education. Both of his younger brothers also attended Elyria Catholic. And when the time came for his three daughters to go to high school, Bob worked to give them the opportunity to attend Mount Notre Dame in Cincinnati. Bob has served on the Mount Notre Dame Board of Trustees for eight years, the last two as Board Chair. Bob’s wife, Nancy, serves as the CFO at Leshnak Wealth and is also the Butler County Treasurer. When Bob married Nancy, he became a stepfather to her daughter and two sons, each of the three approximately the same age as his own children and graduates of Bishop Fenwick High School. They affectionately refer to their family as The Brady Bunch and although all six kids are out of college and on their own, Bob and Nancy enjoy having everyone together as often as possible.
