Jackson was nominated by two different teachers, both of whom witnessed his compassionate heart.
One teacher noted that Jackson went above and beyond to help his injured friend during the school day, even while having an injury himself. He never complained and was willing to help with anything he needed.Coach Fox noted that Jackson did plenty of work on the field, but what made him special was what he did and how he acted when most would have a negative attitude. Faced with a season-ending injury, Jackson decided to still help his teammates, even if he couldn’t physically be with them. He took on a selfless role, giving his time and effort wherever needed. When a friend and teammate also became injured, Jackson would push his wheelchair, carry his books, and help with classes.
When things don’t go our way, we have a very convenient excuse to turn negative, disengage, and to become bitter or even jealous. Jackson used that as an opportunity to show his selflessness and compassion for his friends and teammates.
Congratulations, Jackson. Continue to Prowl with Pride.
