Elyria Catholic High School is proud to share how, Jacob Walther '21 is leaving his Print in the community. A scout from Holy Trinity/St. Mary Troop 462, Jacob's Eagle Scout project was to build and install two sub-irrigated raised planters at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception School in Avon. These learning beds are self-watering and will be used as part of the school's STEM curriculum. St. Mary's was the first school in Lorain County to receive a STEM Designation by the Ohio Department of Education in March 2017.
In honor of National STEM Day on Friday, November 9th the learning beds will be blessed after 8:30 am Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon with the students and Jacob in attendance.
Jacob is no stranger to sharing his gifts and talents at EC. He is an active member of our Music Ministry, Marching Band of Spirit and community outreach efforts such as the Lorain County Homeless Stand Down and Living Stations of the Cross. He shares his creative gifts on stage as a member of our EC Theater Club and his writing skills as a contributing writer/reporter for our
Panther Prowl Magazine. We are pleased to see that his talents, skills and compassion for others reaches beyond the classroom and into his parish and community.
