Fr. Charlie Diedrick, Pastor, St. Mary Parish Elyria, celebrated our Homecoming Mass this week. His message of God is Love was an inspiration for us as we enjoy Friendship Week and gear up for Homecoming 2023. We reflect on his message that we are called to shared that love with others as we build up the Kingdom together.
After we ended Mass with a spirited version of Trading Our Sorrows, President Annie Heidersbach mentioned that it was quite fitting that Fr. Charlie joined us today, as she asked the students an EC history question of "where did EC first begin classes?" One of our seniors, Nora Taylor, was the first to raise her hand and respond with "St. Mary School." Nora, a proud St. Mary School alumna won an Est. 1947 EC sweatshirt for her correct response.
Following our thanks to Fr. Charlie, Assistant Prinicipal Tom Taylor inducted the Student Senate for the 2023-2024 school year.
The morning concluded with the announcement of our annual Cash Raffle which begins next month. Mrs. Essenmacher, Philanthropy & Engagment Associate, and Christin Coughlin, Teacher, introduced the $10,000 Cash Raffle along with the incentives. Tickets will be going on sale October 16.
