Elyria Catholic High School is proud to partner with
Honor and Remember as we
Honor and Remember Fallen Military Alumni this Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Knights of Columbus Stadium before the Elyria Catholic vs. Padua Franciscan football game.
In a pre-game ceremony we will Honor and Remember our Fallen Military Alumni and Gold Star Families they left behind. The Gold Star Families will take the field along with personalized Honor and Remember Flags for a brief moment of recognition before the football game.
The Gold Star Families will each be presented a Personalized Honor and Remember Flag by George Lutz I in a Private Ceremony in Elyria Catholic High School at 6:00 p.m. After the ceremony, we will walk from the school to the football field in a procession to recognize the Gold Star Families before the National Anthem.
Weather permitting, there will be a two-man parachute team dropping in the middle of the field with the American Flag, an Honor and Remember Flag and the ceremonial game ball. The 30'x50' Honor and Remember Flag has the names of over 600 Fallen Soldiers and after the pre-game recognition, the Gold Star Families in attendance will be able to add their Fallen loved one's name to the flag.
We will Honor and Remember the following Elyria Catholic Soldiers:
Class of 1966 Grad:
SP4 Robert "Bo" Cameron - Army | Died: June 26, 1969 | Vietnam
Class of 1983 Grad:
Sgt Paul C. Diederich - Army | Died: October 15, 1986 | Training
Class of 1987 Grad:
MSgt Robert H. West - Army | Died: May 14, 2006 | Iraq
Class of 1994 Grad:

The Honor and Remember Flag was developed 3 years after the founder, George Lutz I, lost his son in combat in Iraq in 2005. The purpose of the
Flag is to perpetually recognize the sacrifice of America’s military fallen service members and their families. Introduced in Congress; H.R.3615 Honor and Remember Flag Recognition Act sponsored by Rep. McEachin, A. Donald [D-Va-4]; and S.2371 Honor and Remember Flag Act of 2019 sponsored by Sen. Manchin, Joe, III [D-WV].
We welcome you to join us for this moving tribute to our Elyria Catholic Alumni and to recognize the Gold Star Families they left by their service to our Country and their ultimate sacrifice.
