We have reviewed the official guidelines from Dr. Frank O'Linn, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Cleveland. In following the directives from Governor Mike DeWine for statewide closure of schools to assist in slowing down the progress of Covid-19, Elyria Catholic will be closed starting tomorrow, March 13 through Friday, April 3.
In an effort to ensure that our students do not fall behind in meeting the educational standards defined by the Diocese and the State of Ohio, students will access their coursework online through various digital platforms. Students should be accessing their courses daily. Students will be held accountable for their assignments and are encouraged to communicate with their teachers with any questions or concerns they may have. If there are any students who do not have internet access, please call the main office and leave a message at 440.230.8604 so that we can assist them.
In an announcement at the end of the school day students were told to take all of their books home with them before leaving the building. If your child was not in school today and needs their books, please email
[email protected], so that we can make arrangements to have them return and collect their books.
All extracurricular and athletic activities and special events falling within this time period are cancelled or postponed until further notice, this includes: the Living Stations of the Cross,
The Addams Family musical, X-STREAM games, the 2020 Forward Gala, and junior and senior retreats. More information regarding the rescheduling or refunds for these events will be forthcoming.
Spring break will continue as scheduled from April 9 - April 17. Please know that we will be in contact with you during this time to keep you informed of any updates. In the meantime, please stay healthy and take care of yourselves.
