Elyria Catholic welcomed 76 students from Oakwood and Franklin Elementary schools on Saturday for a day of Christmas magic on the EC campus. This annual Christmas event gives not only the young children in our community a chance to enjoy a bit of Christmas fun, but it also provides our students the opportunity to share their time, talent and treasure each year. Our juniors and seniors look forward to picking a buddy and purchasing items from their wish list. The little guests enjoyed a day of
breakfast,arts and crafts,
watching a Christmas movie, cookie decorating and present unwrapping with Santa. Our EC Theater Club performed their Christmas show,
Elfie, throughout the day for all the students.
All of our students enjoy spending the day with their buddy, making sure they each have a memorable time. It is a fun day for students who may not have the brightest Christmas. It is such a rewarding experience for all involved.
The program which is over fifteen years old is funded by a few all school fundraisers throughout the fall season and donations from friends of EC. It is organized by our students and Mrs. Danielle Esposito, one of our Science teachers. This EC tradition is one that our students look forward to each and every year. There have been thousands of memories made throughout the years.
