Brian Krusz ‘98 feels that both EC and the Marines instilled in him the principles, values, and higher standards needed for a foundation of success. He says that foundation helps him continue to be a Man of Christ. Brian will be leaving on April 9 to visit Warsaw, Krakow, and Czestochowa. other refugee camps and areas to provide direct aid to the displaced citizens of Ukraine. Brian is a member of the Strongsville Rotary Club and has worked with that organization and other community clubs to raise nearly $27,000 to directly purchase and deliver what products the refugees might need most when he visits. Brian will be traveling with another Strongsville Rotarian and former fireman, Pat Greco. He will also visit with and provide assistance to a chaplain in Poland who makes regular supply trips directly into Ukraine.
Brian was influenced by his grandfather, a former fireman, who often asked, “When will you pay your community rent?” Brian knew he could earn his degree at any time but would only have the physical capability to serve his country while he was young. Brian enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from EC and served eight years as an Aviation Ordnanceman and as a recruiter. He earned a business management degree from Kent State University and worked as for Oster Homes as a salesman and then as an executive recruiter in the banking industry. In 2012, Brian attended a convention about the car wash industry and was intrigued. Shortly thereafter, he took over his first struggling location in Strongsville and has now grown Sgt. Clean Car Wash to seven locations, with two more under construction, and is acquiring a chain that has three more.
If you feel you would like to help Brian’s efforts with a donation through the Rotary Club of Strongsville, please visit https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZUQ52A5GHMYW8 before April 8. Donations will also be accepted after this deadline and delivered to established contacts in Poland who will continue efforts. Please note that 100% of the donations will go to those in need. None of the donations will be used for personal or travel expenses. Brian thanks you, in advance, for your prayers and support!
