“Elyria Catholic has been in my blood since the day I was born. My grandmother (Joan Reaser ‘52) was a part of the first graduating class to go all 4 years so she started at EC as a freshman the first year it opened.”
The Elyria Catholic green has always been in Bekka Reaser’s blood. As a third generation Panther, she was raised amongst the EC pillars and instills them in her adult life today. While a student at Elyria Catholic, Bekka was both a cheerleader and a member of the theater department. She credits both activities for her confidence and leadership skills that she continues to use to this day.
Even before Bekka entered high school she exemplified the meaning of community by volunteering and giving so much of her time back to the EC family. At age 13, she began helping her dad (Tony Reaser ‘81) paint the game field for Friday night football. Immediately upon graduation, Bekka became the assistant cheerleading coach and continued in that role through the 2017-2018 school year. Most recently, Bekka completed her fourth EC production as choreographer. This summer’s alumni show of Beauty and the Beast not only included the cast performing Bekka’s choreography, but the audience enjoyed her acting skills as well!
“If I can give as much time as I can, that’s exactly what I will do. I have loved watching this school grow bigger and better every day. Two of the things I have loved the most in this school are the theater and football programs… they have changed my life for the better.”
Bekka currently works as an orthodontist assistant in Medina and continues to volunteer at EC whenever she can. From passing out t-shirts, assisting with banquets, she is continuously lending a helping hand with EC pride.
To her fellow classmates of 2016, she says “I know your futures continue to be bright and the mountains we continue to move are endless.”
