The English Department of Elyria Catholic High School exists to help our students develop into caring, just and responsible adults who are skilled in oral and written communication. The students are also enriched by the literary arts, and motivated to use their talent fully for themselves and society. Since the students come to high school with varied backgrounds in English skills and with individual potential and performance levels, this department aims to challenge and encourage each student through individualized methods within heterogeneous classes. Individual needs and interests are also met by reading / study skills, tutoring and honors classes in grades 10, 11, and 12.
