Dennis O’Neal, Elyria Catholic Class of 1958, has arranged a planned gift to Elyria Catholic that will allow us to continue our legacy of educating students in the Catholic tradition.
Dennis graduated from the University of Dayton and received an MBA from Miami of Ohio. After a stay in Chicago, he joined First National Bank of Omaha for a career lasting 36 years. He served 9 years as president.
Dennis held a number of leadership roles including Chairman of Creighton Preparatory High School and Chairman of Creighton Hospital. In honor of his efforts, he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree. He has also served as president of Boys and Girls Clubs of Omaha and The Omaha Community Playhouse. He continues to volunteer in Scottsdale Arizona where he and his wife Virginia reside.
Why Elyria Catholic? Dennis cites the significant leadership apparent in both Amy Butler and Annie Heidersbach, Annie’s increased visibility, and the emphasis they have both placed on the strategic planning process which is so important to the future of our school. An obvious strong believer in the value of Catholic education, Dennis has been a long-term Our Lady of Grace Benefactor. He says, “The future is bright and I am pleased to support our grand efforts.”
