Elyria Catholic High School is proud to announce that senior, Paige Miserandino, has been named a National Merit Semifinalist. Paige is one of 16,000 academically talented high school seniors who was chosen to compete for one of 2,500 National Merit $2,500 Scholarships that will be awarded on a state-representational basis. The finalists will be announced beginning in four nationwide news releases beginning in April 2020.
Paige is not only leaving her "Print" academically, but also extracurricularly by sharing her talents as a member of the many organizations at Elyria Catholic: Marching Band, Choir, Drama, Academic Team, Film, Socratic, Board Game, Model UN. She was a founder of the EC Corn Hole Club and represents EC as an Ambassador. Her expertise in electronic and pneumatic engineering played an integral part in the EC.EXE Robotics Club being chosen to go to WORLDS last March in Michigan. A graduate of St. Peter's School in North Ridgeville, she also volunteers as an altar server at St. Peter's Church.
Paige was awarded the Pillar of Faith, last year. In her nomination by Mr. Vitale, EC English teacher, he wrote, "In addition to being intellectually bright, Paige Miserandino is a spiritual “bright” light at EC. Not only is Paige in chapel every single day, but she was also an integral leader for the freshman retreat. She indeed carries out Catholic doctrine in word and deed."
