President Annie Heidersbach has secured Partners in Mission, a professional consulting firm specializing in advancement and leadership services for Catholic education, to work with members of the Elyria Catholic community to begin strategic planning. Dr. Todd Sweda ‘84 and Mrs. Zoë Zwegat Schmid ‘10 have agreed to serve as Steering Committee co-chairs to lead EC through the process.
Dr. Sweda currently serves as the Co-Director of the Office of Catholic Education & Formation and Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Before this appointment, he served as President of Archbishop Hoban High School and held positions with Gilmour Academy and Georgetown Preparatory School (MD).
Zoë Schmid has worked in non-profit development for more than seven years for organizations including The College of Wooster, Cleveland Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Wexner Center for the Arts, Dublin Arts Council, and the McConnell Arts Center. She is currently Assistant Director of Development at Cleveland Clinic. Zoë has been serving on the Elyria Catholic Advisory Council’s Academic and Co-Curricular Activities Committee.

The Elyria Catholic Strategic Plan is the first step in a broader initiative that will lead to a feasibility study and comprehensive campaign. Ultimately, our goal is to provide students with a transformative Catholic high school experience in which they learn, worship, and serve today and in the future.”
