While at EC, Allison Dumski ‘11 was involved in student senate and played volleyball for four years. As a senior, she took advantage of one more opportunity and performed as the little red-headed girl in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown! She says the role was perfect for her because she did not have any lines but still got to enjoy the experience of being on stage. Always involved in student government at both EC and then Cleveland State University, Allie has been serving in the public sector since she graduated from CSU. While earning her Bachelors in Business Administration, Allie served as President of the Cleveland State University Government Association and was appointed by Governor John Kasich to be a student representative on the University’s Board of Trustees.
In 2015, Allie moved to Columbus and started her career in the Ohio Senate President’s office. After working in the legislative branch, both the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives, she did communications for a statewide campaign and later moved on to the Ohio Auditor of State’s office where she served as the Press Secretary for over three years. In those roles, she got to travel the state meeting with local governments and even participated in a trade mission in Israel. She was also part of the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute Class of 2016. Recently, she started a new job as the Communications Director for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Allie is still an avid volleyball player, playing regularly in both 4s and 6s sand leagues in Columbus and fondly recalls her senior year at EC when they started the year without a volleyball coach and finished with a district championship and landing in the Elite 8. Allie and her family became involved with Lifeline of Ohio after the death of her father in 2017. Allie is a regular race participant, a fundraiser, and an ambassador helping spread the word about organ donation at events across the state. Since 2017, she has raised over $10,000 for the Dash for Donation. Allie lives near downtown Columbus and will marry David O’Neil on December 31, 2022 with mass at St. Mary in Elyria and a reception in the Tremont area.
