Krese Qualifies for State Cross Country Meet, Boys Team Finishes 7th in Strong Field
Despite having his shoe stepped on and nearly taken off less than a half-mile into Saturday's Division III Regional Championship Meet at Youngstown Boardman High School, senior Matt Krese gutted his way into the 16th and final individual qualifying slot for the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships this coming Saturday. As a team, the Panther boys finished 7th in the 13-school field, falling short of a top-four placement needed to qualify to the State Meet as a team. The other EC runners were seniors Colin Garrity, Matt Boehm, and Kevin Theile, juniors Ethan Zientarski and Alex Trautwein, and sophomore Thomas Moore. Krese also qualified to the State Meet in 2019 where he finished 43rd.
